Martel had her own radio show on Talk107 and also worked as a stand-in for Fred MacAulay on BBC Radio Scotland.

Loyal daytime TV fans expressed their grief on social media after Lucy Alexander announced that she would be leaving Homes Under The Hammer after 13 years at the helm.

The popular presenter made the announcement on Twitter as she wrote: “It’s with a huge heavy heart I’m stepping down, it’s not the outcome I wanted but to pursue other work and a commercial deal I had to leave.
“I will miss my TV husband hugely we have had 13 happy years together! time to move on though. Xxxx.”

Lucy is now a brand ambassador for Carpetright.
