WED ALERT

Well, it might have not have been subtle – but the former England star certainly got the message, because she revealed he popped the question yesterday.

The 26-year-old looked sensational when she turned up to the TV Baftas in May wearing the dress, which many suspected was a real bridal gown.

She later confirmed it, thanking a posh bridal wear shop known as The Wedding Club.

Kate posted: "Thank you @naeemkhannyc for this stunning dress from @theweddingclub1 …. in love."

At the time, fans were delighted, believing it would give former football ace boyfriend Rio the push he needed.

This may be the exact moment Rio got the hintOne tweeted: "Rio is looking at her thinking, I need to get that ring."

Another wrote: "Hope you marry soon u look like a bride in this!"

And it seemed 39-year-old Rio agreed, proposing to Kate on top of a skyscraper in Abu Dhabi in front of his three children, Lorenz, 11, Tate, nine and Tia, seven.

Kate posted a photo of the moment on Instagram yesterday, writing: "The perfect end to our holiday … How could the answer not be yes ❤️❤️"

Rio was previously married to Rebecca Ellison, who died from breast cancer aged 34 in 2015.

He revealed to The Sun last year how Rebecca had given her blessing to him finding love again, confiding in her friend Lisa.

The ex-footballer explained: “Rebecca told Lisa something in the final weeks of her life.

"Months later Lisa told me what it was… 'It kills me to think of Rio with a new partner, Lisa, you know it does. Of course it does.

"'If I don't make it, Lisa, I don't want Rio to be miserable. I want him to be happy.'"

Kate spoke about her life with Rio in August, saying they "just clicked" the moment they met.

She said: "If someone had told me a few years back that I was going to be the stepmum of three children, I would have just laughed.

"You don't see something like that coming."

Rio said his relationship with Kate was good for his children, explaining: "They have got a female in the house now.

"They run past me sometimes to go to her. I've had to go through a period of being very, very open, and men aren't normally like that naturally.

"So having that extra person in the house who is female, who has that softer touch, I think is vitally important for the kids."
