Vikings season six, part B is expected to air later this year on Amazon Prime Video and the History channel. The part A finale ended on a huge cliffhanger and fans are desperate to know if Bjorn Ironside (played by Alexander Ludwig) has survived. Express.co.uk has everything you need to know.
Is Bjorn Ironside dead? Will Alexander Ludwig return?
The season six, part A finale of Viking saw the Rus Vikings attack Bjorn Ironside’s Kattegat.
The Rus, led by Prince Oleg (Danila Kozlovsky), Ivar the Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen) and Hvitserk (Marco Ilsø) plundered the beaches of Kattegat, killing many men in the process.
There were undoubtedly casualties on both sides but two of the most shocking victims were Bjorn Ironside and King Harald (Peter Franzén).
King Harald was knocked to the ground and injured as he fought on the beaches, with Erik (Eric Johnson) picking up his fallen crown.

Whether he survived remains unknown for now and fans will have to wait until part B drops to find out.
Bjorn Ironside appeared to be stabbed by his brother Ivar the Boneless in the final moments of the finale.
However, whether the stabbing actually took place or was simply a figment of Ivar and Bjorn’s imagination remains unknown.
Bjorn seemed to receive a fatal blow amid a crowd of fighting soldiers, however, as he fell to the ground, everything around him disappeared and it was just Ivar and Bjorn on the beach.
Since the finale aired in January, fans have been debating whether Bjorn Ironside is dead.
Reddit User Ghostface1357 wrote: “Well, of course, he’s not dead, I know that. He’s the one on the horse 100%. But I’m sure that episode 11 will be his last episode.
“Can’t wait to see him just go full berserker mode against the Rus’. He potentially may even die but somehow he probably beats the Rus’ forces”
Vikings fan normal1 commented: “Yes Bjorn will return on his white horse with the remnants of the Viking army and maybe the kings and jarls who didn’t show up will join him.
“I think that should have been in this half of the season but whatever.”

Show creator Michael Hirst has confirmed Bjorn and Harald are seriously injured in part B but did not disclose whether they would survive.
Bjorn Ironside star, Alexander Ludwig also confirmed he would be returning in part B, but did not specify how long for or in what form.
Hirst hinted to TV Guide: “He’s not dead, is he? He’s very, very badly wounded.
“I can’t tell you too much but what I can tell you is the [midseason premiere] is an extraordinary episode and a number of things that you thought were true at the end of [midseason finale] proved not to be quite true.”

Ludwig added: “Nobody would be expecting that [Bjorn to die], which is why I think it’s a genius move.
“It’s something that I had spoken to [creator Michael Hirst] about in a lot of ways, and I said that I wanted Bjorn to go at the hands of somebody like Ivar.
“If it wasn’t Ivar, then it would have been by his own hand or something so tragic that the audience was just kind of floored by it.
“Because it’s so obvious for Bjorn to finally come up and achieve all this greatness and take his brother down and save the day, and it’s kind of what everybody secretly wants.
“And that’s kind of what I loved about the choice is that he goes — I’ll tell you this though.
“He doesn’t go without a fight. And whether or not he is still alive, you will see a version of Bjorn is some way, shape, or form.”
