Try Not to Cry While Watching the ‘Queer Eye’ Fab Five Give a Shelter Dog a Makeover

Close your eyes and think of the one thing that could make you cry even harder than you normally do while watching Queer Eye. Do you see a dog attempting to live its best little fluffy life while the Fab Five cheer her on? I bet you do.

Unfortunately for your tear ducts, that’s a thing now. To raise awareness of Adopt a Shelter Pet Day, the Fab Five blessed us with Queer Eye for the Dog, a quick li’l minisode where a corgi-mix named Lacey gets her life turned around.

Much like all the human Queer Eye heroes, Lacey is already awesome but could use a few self-love tips. (Or owner-love tips…because she does not have opposable thumbs and cannot do things like grooming or cooking by herself.) Lacey’s a 3-year-old pup who was rescued from being euthanized at a municipal shelter in Tennessee. She was nominated to receive a “make-better” from the Fab Five by a woman named Rosie who works at the North Shore Animal League in New York and hopes to help Lacey get adopted.

If you thought Bruley the French Bulldog from Queer Eye season 3 had you in your feelings, you’re really going to lose it when you see an entire minisode dedicated to a canine.

You can say that the Fab 5 had a PAWSITIVE impact on @bruley 😘🐶

This minisode truly has everything. Lacey gets a pep talk from Karamo, some gourmet treats from Antoni, grooming from JVN, a home decor upgrade from Bobby, and a hot fashion moment with Tan. You can watch it here:

By the way, you can steal Antoni’s homemade dog-treat recipe, below. I’m literally shocked that it does not include even a single slice of avocado, but whatever.

If you’re still itching for new Queer Eye content while you wait for the fourth season (or for the four-episode special they’ve been teasing, Queer Eye: We’re in Japan!), the Fab Five stopped by Cosmopolitan recently and created the most hilarious video you’ll ever see. Enjoy.
