Tragic Amy Winehouse lined up for controversial world tour as a hologram

Her father Mitch has announced a worldwide tour for Amy next year — as a hologram.

The late singer, above, whose hits included Back To Black, Rehab and Valerie, will be digitally remastered on stage for the controversial shows, backed by a live band and singers.

Mitch announced the news yesterday during the Amy Winehouse Foundation’s annual gala at London’s Dorchester hotel.

He said: “As a family, we felt ready to bring Amy’s incredible talent back to the spotlight, give her fans a chance to experience her music again and for new generations to continue  to discover her.

“We experienced first-hand how these hologram shows celebrate great artists.

“This is a wonderful way to bring focus back to her musical legacy, as well as raising funds for the Amy Winehouse Foundation. All of the money that we get — the Winehouse family — will go  to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, 100 per cent. It’s an incredible way to give Amy’s fans what they want.

“We are excited but at the same time it’s going to be tough for the family.”

The company Base Hologram is behind the show, having  previously brought late 1960s  rocker Roy Orbison and opera star Maria Callas back in hologram form.

Mitch insisted the tour would be   a celebration of Amy’s legacy, raising money for the foundation set up in her name which works to keep youngsters safe from drink and drugs.  The tour is set to begin at the end of next year, with dates to be announced in the months ahead.

The idea was first raised in 2014, when a businessman pitched the idea to Mitch.

Amy’s father said at the time: “No truth in the hologram  story. Utter rubbish, as usual.”

Two years previously, Mitch insisted he had no interest in seeing his daughter digitally recreated on stage. He said at the time: “I can’t watch Amy on TV or listen to her songs. It’s really difficult.”

Amy was an icon and deserves to be fondly remembered as a chart superstar who made a lasting mark on music —   but nobody needs an eerie hologram to make that happen.

Profits are going to Amy’s foundation, but I can’t see such special effects capturing her electric personality.

I think I’ll stick with the memories.

Pixie on 'corse' at bash

AN Attitude Awards without Pixie Lott would not be worthy of the name. She led the best-dressed in a corset at The Roundhouse in London last night.

Pixie was joined by her fiance, model Oliver Cheshire, having spent much of the past month apart from him on a  Greek hen do with pals.

They were followed by Katherine Jenkins, who discussed her cover of a Stormzy song on her new  album.   She said: “I loved recording Blinded By Your Grace.

“We even put our daughter’s voice on it during a section where children speak.”

Also among the guests were Boy George and Mollie King. Little Mix won the Honorary Gays award but traffic woes meant only half of them arrived on time. Jade Thirlwall, who was early, said: “I love a gay night out but we’ve got a big gay  fanbase – it’s hard to go out without being swamped.”

Bet she’s not short of free drinks.

SELENA GOMEZ SUFFERS ‘EMOTIONAL BREAKDOWN’

The troubled singer, who has been hard at work on her third solo album, was hospitalised twice in the past fortnight due to a low white blood cell count.

But according to sources in the US, she insisted on leaving early during her second visit when she “freaked out” and experienced a meltdown.

She has now entered a psychiatric facility on the east coast of the US as she tries to recover.

Selena’s low blood cell count is related to her kidney transplant last year which she had during her battle with autoimmune disease lupus.

Selena, below, also sought treatment for anxiety and depression in 2014 and 2016.

Earlier this year, she spent a fortnight at another facility.

Last month she announced that she was taking a break from social media.

Yesterday, her former boyfriend Justin Bieber appeared to be emotional as he arrived at his church shortly after the news broke.

I’m glad she’s now getting the help she clearly needs.

Jessie’s magic moment

JESSIE J was in need of a miracle after her fourth album flopped – then Magic Mike turned up.

The singer, above, has come back with a Bang Bang after striking up a romance with Hollywood’s most famous stripping actor, Channing Tatum.

News of the random pairing broke on Tuesday after they were spotted on a string of dates in the US. It hasn’t  gone down well with Channing’s estranged wife, actress and dancer Jenna Dewan.

After Channing and Jessie were seen in a bar, Jenna posted a cryptic message on Twitter saying: “Thank God for girlfriends.”

She has now shared a picture of their daughter, Everly, who she hailed as her “shining star”.

Channing, pictured, who split from Step Up actress Jenna in April, was spotted at Jessie’s R.O.S.E world tour concerts in Seattle and Salt Lake City.

Her album of the same name was released in May and failed to chart.

The two were also spotted at a mini-golf course last week.

Jessie, whose biggest success of late was winning Chinese TV talent show China’s Singer, first crossed paths with then-married Channing at the MTV Movie Awards in 2015.

I’m not sure Jenna would vote for him now.

JUST two months after the release of her fourth  album Sweetener, Ariane Grande has revealed another is on the way. Despite her representatives previously saying she was taking time off, when asked on Twitter if she would be releasing a new album by the end of the year, she replied: “Yes.”
