Top Gear 2019: Paddy McGuinness issues concern in NEW trailer ahead of BBC show return

Paddy, 45, and Freddie, 41, were announced as the new Top Gear presenters last year, joining Chris Harris, 44, to front the BBC motor show.

The duo will be replacing former presenters Matt Le Blanc, 51, and Rory Reid, 39, who made their final appearance as hosts of the show earlier this year.

With fans eager to see the new presenting line-up in action, the show dropped a one minute trailer on their official Twitter page earlier today.

As well as seeing the trio joking about, fans are given a glimpse into some of the places the presenters will be embarking to for the 27th series, as well as the motors they will be getting their hands on.

The trailer begins with Paddy issuing concern for his new role after finding himself in treacherous terrain on the water, with the presenter saying to the camera: “I’m out of my comfort zone.”

As the clip continues, the Celebrity Juice panelist is seen emerging from a hearse, telling his co-stars: “The ultimate family car, my friend.”

Freddie quips: “What, Adam’s family?” before the trailer cuts to the new presenters trying to work their way out a sticky situation.

With one vehicle stuck in a torrent of mud, it seems Freddie breaks off a part of the car, telling Paddy: “It’s alright, you don’t need it.”

Taking on each other in various challenges, the trio are then seen in a number of different motors as well as teasing each other with several pranks.

One such prank sees Chris electrocuting Paddy as he drives his car around an obstacle course, with the Take Me Out host screaming at his co-stars: “Pack it in.”

The trailer continues with the men sporting around in all manner of cars from different time periods, as well as fans seeing the trio holding on to their helmets as the hearse they’re driving topples over after Freddie takes a sharp bend.

Racing each other in another part of the trailer, Freddie exclaims: “Oh, you absolute whopper!” as it seems his co-stars are beating him in the drag race.

As the trailer draws to a close, Paddy can be heard saying: “Just another day at the office,” before the iconic logo appears on screen.

Fans were ecstatic at the news and took to Twitter to respond to the clip being released ahead of the show’s return later this year.

One posted: “Looking forward to Season 27 of the new #TopGear with its new Presenter line up,” followed by a thumbs up emoji.

Another added: “I like Chris, I like Freddie… Hopefully Paddy McGuiness is good in this #TopGear.”

Whilst a third remarked: “So utterly proud of what is coming your way. #TopGear,” after Chris shared the clip from his official Twitter account.

A fourth remarked: “Actually looking forward to a series of #TopGear.”

Speaking of taking on the role of presenter after the announcement in September, Paddy said in statement released by the BBC press: “Getting the Top Gear gig is a real honour and I’m thrilled the BBC have given me this opportunity.

Last month, former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson, 59, took aim at the show during an appearance on The Jonathan Ross show.

Top Gear returns later this year on BBC Two.
