Toni Collette branded ‘diva-like on Wanderlust set over a strange food request’

Wanderlust star Toni Collette has allegedly "outraged" the cast and crew of the BBC show for her "diva-like" behaviour.

The Aussie actress, 45, is claimed to have been rude to production staff and her PA, and is alleged to have shouted over her PA getting her the wrong brand of organic vinegar.

A show insider revealed to The Sun that she "acted like she ruled the roost" and shouted at her own PA over the strange food request, leading to other members on set joking about her mood.

The source said: "Toni is a star – but difficult to work with to say the least. She was rude to staff, belittled people, and acted like she ruled the roost.

“She would have heated disagreements with directors and even shouted at her PA in front of everyone because she bought the wrong brand of organic vinegar for her.

“Crew would make jokes about what Toni would be in work, what mood we were going to get that day.

When the cameras roll, she’s a pro. But once they stopped she was unpredictable. OK some days, moody the next.”

“You expect a level of drama with lead characters and Hollywood types, but she was just a whole new level."

The source also said the actress allegedly made fun of the set, comparing it to Hollywood movies she had starred in, though unfavourably.

Toni stars as Joy Richards, who convinces her husband to try an open relationship to get the spark back in their marriage.

The show was filmed in Manchester from October last year to February this year, and features some of the BBC’s raunchiest scenes ever as a masturbation scene was shown in the first seven minutes of the first episode.

Wanderlust has gained some criticism, however, with some fans unsure it is much more than just naughty sex scenes and awkward trysts.

MirrorOnline has contacted representatives for Toni Collette for comment.

Wanderlust continues on Monday at 9pm on BBC1.
