The Phone Number in Stranger Things 3 Is Real and You Should Call It Right Now

Spoilers for Stranger Things Season 3 below. 🚨

If you’ve already finished watching Stranger Things 3, and currently feel as though you have nothing to exist for, then we have just the thing.

Aside from rewatching the third season again in its entirety (which seems like a totally reasonable option, tbh), there might be something more productive you can do. One eagle-eyed fan has discovered an Easter egg hidden in Stranger Things Season 3, Episode 6, and you’re going to want to try it out.

In the episode, when Hopper makes a phone call from Murray Bauman’s house, he gives out the residence’s landline number (which the journalist-turned-private-detective-slash-conspiracy-theorist is pretty mad about, as he doesn’t want to be tracked down). And, as it turns out, the number Hopper reads out in Episode 6 is totally legit.

Twitter user @yoonxluv discovered that the number was real when they called it and reached Murray Bauman’s answerphone message. Per @yoonxluv, “the phone number from episode 6 works in case you wanted to know #StrangerThings3”:

It’s worth noting that Bauman addresses Joyce in the message and says that he has some information for her that he wants to share in person. Could this information be related to Hopper and the fact that he might be locked up in a Russian jail cell and not, in fact, dead?

If you’re already having withdrawal symptoms because you’ve watched all of Stranger Things 3, it’s probably time to dial Murray’s number, which is (618) 625-8313. Although prepare yourself for his brutal sign-off: “Hang up and never call here again! You are a parasite!”
