The One is on Netflix now and the series has made its way to the streaming platform’s number one spot since it first aired. The show includes many surprising twists and turns as the characters set out to meet their true love through the MatchDNA app. Fans are wondering whether Kate (played by Zoë Tapper) will choose Sebastian (Eduardo Lloveras) over her match Sophia (Jana Pérez).
Will Kate leave Sophia for her brother Sebastian?
The One has stolen the top spot on Netflix and the series was inspired by the novel of the same name by John Marrs.
The series follows entrepreneur Rebecca Webb (Hannah Ware) who spearheaded the matchmaking venture, MatchDNA.
Couples from all walks of life were determined to meet their one true love through the power of genetics and science.
Sadly, the app was known to have caused many arguments and break-ups, and there was a huge revelation at the end of the series.
Kate had formed a relationship with her match Sophia, from Spain, who decided to travel to London to visit the detective.
She was involved in an accident and spent a lot of the series in a coma in hospital.
Despite this, Kate sat by her side and supported her, even when Sophia’s wife Valeria (Paula Muñoz) showed up.
Another spanner was thrown in the works when Sophia’s brother Sebastian came to see her and confessed his love for Kate.
The way he spoke about her seemed to indicate she was his match, but Kate had already been matched with Sophia.
Kate could not deny there was some kind of spark between herself and Sebastian, and she was left questioning her relationship.
At the end of the series, she figured out it may be possible to be matched with one person, which would explain Sebastian’s undeniable feelings.
Kate seemed to have chosen Sophia, but there is a chance she may come to realise her feelings for Sebastian.
He had come to terms with the fact Kate was not interested and was prepared to accept she was just a friend.
But Kate found it surprisingly difficult to walk away from him and fans may suspect she will want to explore her connection with Sebastian further.
If the series is renewed for a second season, there is a chance she could leave Sophia to be with her brother.

The One theories: Kate and Sophia’s romance ‘doomed’ [INSIGHT]
Actress Tapper is on Instagram and she shared a photo of herself as Kate with co-star Pérez, saying: “Sophia breaks the news to Kate that The One is no.1 in the Netflix top ten.”
One fan commented: “Love this show so much. Really hope there is a season 2 left it on such a cliffhanger!”
The actress spoke to Express.co.uk about the concept of having more than one match and how it would fare in a second season.
She said: “I think to drop that little nugget of doubt into the whole concept of it towards the end is very clever.
“And I personally love the idea of how that’s going to start unsettling people and causing concern. It could completely explode.”
Kate and Sophia lead very different lives, with Sophia having a seemingly reckless side, whereas Kate is very methodical.
Having such different personalities, they may find it tricky to navigate a long-term relationship in the future.
There is also the fact Sophia lied about her family, which leads Kate to question whether she can trust her match.
Plus there is the added complication with Sebastian, which has made the situation even more uncomfortable.
Kate will undoubtedly be driven crazy by her unrecognised feelings for Sophia’s brother in a potential second season.
The One is streaming on Netflix now.
