The Hills is making a comeback, but is Lauren Conrad?

After a mini cast reunion on the MTV Video Music Awards pink carpet in New York on Monday, MTV has announced the return of reality show The Hills.

The Hills stars (L-R) Justin Brescia (aka Justin Bobby), Stephanie Pratt, Frankie Delgado, Ashley Wahler, Jason Wahler, Audrina Patridge, Heidi Montag,  Spencer Pratt and baby Gunner Pratt on the red carpet of the MTV VMAs on Monday.

The updated version of the hugely popular show will be a docuseries called The Hills: New Beginnings and will follow the personal and professional lives of original cast members alongside their children and friends in Los Angeles. It is slated to premiere next year.

A slew of those original cast members reunited on the VMAs carpet including Justin Brescia (aka Justin Bobby), Stephanie Pratt, Frankie Delgado, Ashley Wahler, Audrina Patridge, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt.

But is the star of the cult show, Lauren "LC" Conrad – aka The Girl Who Didn't Go to Paris – also going to be making a comeback? It's not likely, seeing as she is now busy being a mother to son Liam, 1, and running her lifestyle business.

Conrad also does not speak to most of her former castmates.

Other The Hills cast members who were noticably missing from the VMAs reunion included Whitney Port, Lo Bosworth and Brody Jenner, half-brother of Kendall and Kylie Jenner.

The original reality show was spin-off of Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and aired for six seasons, ending in 2010.

It initially focused on the LA lives of Conrad and housemate Montag, along with Patridge, Port and several other friends.
