The Great British Celebrity Bake Off's Stacey Dooley blasted for 'cheating' as she's caught using very sneaky tactic

STACEY Dooley was blasted for "cheating" on The Great British Celebrity Bake Off after copying her fellow contestants.

The Strictly Come Dancing winner was called out by host Matt Lucas on last night's show as she spied on other work desks to see how to complete the technical challenge.

Stacey, 34, was joined by comedian Katherine Ryan, Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall and YouTuber Olajide William Olatunji, better known as KSI.

Despite the competition focusing on raising money for charity, it didn't stop the contestants from getting competitive over Paul Hollywood's tricky technical challenge.

After a first round where all the celebs failed to produce the perfect fondant fancy, the bakers were asked to whip up a cherry lattice pie.

Served with a side of homemade custard, they were supposed to have a "buttery sweet shortcrust pastry" and baked cherry filling.

Stacey looked baffled as she began to read through the vague instructions Prue Leith and Paul had left on the celebrities' desks to get them started.

"Well, I'll talk you through my process," Stacey began to tell Matt, who had come to see how she planned to tackle the complex challenge.

"I sort of try to familiarise myself with the instructions," she continued, before admitting: "And then I look over at Katherine."

As they both laughed, Matt teased back: "I'll tell you what I like about that – it's cheating."

Stacey's trick didn't go to plan as she was left with a pie top that hadn't been latticed and custard thick enough to "put wallpaper up with it", Paul told her during the judging.

Singer Jade Thirwall won the technical challenge, while KSI was branded the "worst Paul had ever seen" as he served his cherry bake upside-down.

The trend continued into the third showstopper round, where Jade produced the perfect biscuits to take the Star Baker apron home.

Despite the chaos, viewers at home were loving it – taking to Twitter to share how they "laughed non stop" through the episode.

"Well that was brilliant," one wrote, as another agreed: "Absolutely hilarious, and their laughter was contagious."

"Not only did that episode of GBBO have Stacey Dooley and Jade in the same episodic which gave me LIFE but the entire episode I laughed non stop," a third said.

"Stacey Dooley on tonight's GBBO lol, you got to love her," a fourth added.

The Great Celebrity Bake for Stand Up 2 Cancer returns next Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4, or is available to steam on All4.
