Here’s some sweet news!
Bakers from the fifth season of The Great British Baking Show had a mini-reunion over the weekend, when they gathered to celebrate the wedding of their fellow contestant Martha Collison — who was just a high school student when she competed on the show back in 2014.
Nine former GBBS season 5 competitors were in attendance, including eventual winner Nancy Birtwhistle and finalist Richard Burr, as well as Chetna Makan, who made it to the semi-final, and Claire Goodwin, who was eliminated in the first episode. And because it was a GBBS wedding, the bakers naturally baked cakes for the special occasion! We’re sure there wasn’t a soggy bottom in sight.
Makan later shared some snaps from the happy day on Instagram. “What a day!” she wrote in one caption. “Having known @marthacollison since she was 17, watching her get married to @mbhaywood27 yesterday was just lovely and beautiful and even more special since we had the whole Bake Off family there to celebrate!”
While Birtwhistle shared a photo of the Prinsesstårta she made for the celebration, as well as a group shot of the GBBS gang.
