The Circle fans spot a MAJOR format change in recent episodes

The Circle has become our latest reality TV obsession.

Just when we thought we were going to be left with a whopping great Big Brother-shaped hole in our lives following news of its axing from Channel 5, this brand new format was introduced during the nightly 10pm slot. And we never looked back.

Fans have been tweeting along to every twist and turn, and some particularly eagle-eyed viewers have spotted a huge change that’s occurred. Maya Jama and Alice Levine, who were announced as the show’s presenters, seem to have disappeared from our screens in recent episodes.

Having introduced us to the original eight contestants and an explanation of how it all works, follow-up episodes have been led by a voiceover instead.

And don’t for a second think that it’s escaped anyone’s notice.

In fact, someone has even mocked up a ‘missing’ poster for them.

Because, internet.

It seems that Maya and Alice have been continuing their involvement in the show on social media – how very appropriate – with videos popping up on The Circle‘s Twitter feed.

What’s more, Channel 4 confirmed to Digital Spy that the presenting duo WILL be returning to our screens for the live final, which is due to air on October 8.

Panic over, everyone.

In other news, Wednesday night’s (September 26) episode was the most dramatic one to date. The results of a contestant poll saw long-lived frustrations bubble to the surface, with Freddie and Kate going head-to-head in a screaming match. Well, most of the noise was coming from Freddie – but he was certainly loud enough for the both of them.

With the drama being left on a bit of a cliffhanger, we’ll be tuning in tonight to see what happened next…

The Circle continues on Channel 4 tonight (September 27) at 10pm.
