The Chase viewers shocked as team beat Anne Hegerty to win £12k in final chase after dentist had £0 in his cash builder – The Sun

WELL it looked like it was all over for tonight's The Chase team, until they managed to pull it out of the bag and beat Anne Hegerty in an nail-biting final.

The team scooped £12K, despite one of the players scoring a record £0 in an earlier round.

Bhagwan, Paul and Laura all walked away with £4,000 each at the end of today’s episode – beating The Governess with three questions left to spare and successfully executing two pushbacks.

Host Bradley Walsh certainly seemed impressed, especially with Bhagwan who managed to redeem himself after his earlier zero score.

The Doctor Who star exclaimed: "Brilliant!  Well played."

To which the feisty Governess replied: "I didn’t do anything wrong."

Before adding: "Apart from the fact that I was too slow. Well done. Enjoy the money.’

Fans were loving The Chase's underdog Bhagwan and took to Twitter to share their joy at his win.

One said: "Well played team I'm a Bhagwan Fan! #TheChase."

While another said: "Bhagwan’s played an absolute blinder there. £0 in his cashbuilder but got himself into the final chase. Strong teamwork leaves The Governess 3 adrift at the final buzzer and the team walk away with a healthy £4K each. You couldn’t write it #TheChase @ITVChase."

This fan didn't hold back: "Bhagwan is the real winner here, got no questions right, brought no money to the prize pot, did f** all, and won £4000 #TheChase."
