The Chase viewers were left stunned tonight after a strong contestant failed to get through to the Final Chase – despite scoring £9,000 in the cash builder.
Detective Sergeant Fiona managed to answer nine questions correctly and went up against Anne Hegerty, aka The Governess.
However after facing a number of difficult questions and only being able to answer two correctly, she ended up being booted out of the ITV competition early.
And shocked viewers flocked to Twitter .
One tweeted: "Well I wasnt expecting that!! #thechase."
While another commented: "Oh dear, what a shame after a great cash builder #thechase."
A third remarked: "Oh noooooooo that’s such a shame,Fiona got a lot of hard questions and wasn’t lucky with her guesses. I had such high hopes for her too after we were spoilt yesterday with a winning formula. #TheChase."
"Gutted Fiona got caught tbh #TheChase," another wrote.
This comes a day after two The Chase contestants made history by consecutively getting £10,000 in the cash builder."
The pair were joined by another player and the trio went on to win £25,000 between them.
