INCOMING Prime Minister Liz Truss got off to a bad start with fans of The Chase tonight.

The ITV quiz show's ardent viewers were left fuming after Bradley Walsh's show was cancelled in favour of her arrival at Downing Street.


The Chase fans tuned into the channel to see the new Prime Minister's car snaking through the streets of London.

One fumed: "I don't care about the #LizTruss motorcade. Where's #thechase?"

Another sniped: "Liz Truss doing herself no favours with #TheChase fans."

A third complained: "Seriously, first cancelling #tippingpoint for the news now cancelling #TheChase too 😡😡."

Schedules are often cleared for major news events, with ITV choosing to broadcast the run-up to Truss' arrival at Downing Street.

Viewers saw her giving a short speech before heading into the famous door of Number 10.

During her speech, she said her three priorities after taking over from Boris Johnson were cutting taxes, dealing with the energy crisis and fixing the NHS.

Liz vowed: "I will make sure that people can get doctor's appointments and the NHS services they need.
