'The Big Bang Theory' Will End In 2019 With An Epic Finale

This is not a drill, people!

The Big Bang Theory will end in 2019, meaning Season 12 will be its last. The mega-hit comedy is the longest-running multi-camera series in TV history with a record-breaking 279 episodes. Now, isn’t that something?

“We are forever grateful to our fans for their support of The Big Bang Theory during the past twelve seasons. We, along with the cast, writers and crew, are extremely appreciative of the show’s success and aim to deliver a final season, and series finale, that will bring The Big Bang Theory to an epic creative close,” read a joint statement from Chuck Lorre Productions, CBS, and Warner Bros. Television.

TBBT debuted in 2007 and has racked up an impressive 52 Emmy nominations and 10 wins to date. Despite Jim Parsons multiple wins, the show has never won for Outstanding Comedy Series. Well, there’s still time!

The final season of TBBT will premiere on Monday, Sept. 24 at 8/7c on CBS and will then move to its regular time slot on Thursday, September 27 at 8/7c on CBS.
