Actor Lance Barber will be familiar to fans of The Big Bang Theory’s successful spin-off, Young Sheldon, as well as the original show.
In the prequel programme, Lance stars as George Sr, Sheldon’s (plated by Iain Armitage) father.
However, prior to being cast in the prequel Lance also played a part in the original CBS series.
Lance starred as Jimmy Speckerman for 2011 episode The Speckerman Recurrence.
I took it as a challenge

He has revealed how some fans of The Big Bang Theory found it “difficult” to see him in a different role in Young Sheldon.
Speaking to press including Express.co.uk at a Young Sheldon junket last year, Lance said: “From the super fans there seemed to be some difficulty suspending their disbelief about someone going on the show as a different character, playing Sheldon’s dad.
“I appreciate that but I took it as a challenge, hopefully they would see a totally different person. Hopefully I succeeded in that.”
Lance later appeared in 2018 episode The VCR Illumination as the older Sheldon (Jim Parsons) viewed a VHS tape his father had taped over when he was a boy.
Young Sheldon has aired two seasons so far but in testament to its popularity it has been renewed for a third and fourth series.
Meanwhile, The Big Bang Theory is drawing to an end as the cast have filmed their final scenes.
Sheldon star Jim shared a photo of apartment 4A, his old home where the group spent most of their time in the series.
On the show, the building is now occupied by Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny Hofstadter (Kaley Cuoco).
Posting to his 6.9million followers on Instagram, Jim wrote: “knock, knock, knock, thank you… Thank you, apartment 4A, for being a home to so many dreams come true, to so many friendships made.
“And thank YOU, ALL of you – yes, YOU, reading this right NOW! As we get ready to tape our final episode tonight, to walk in and out of this apartment door for the last time, it is hard to find the words to articulate what a profound experience this has been.
“But the words “love” and “gratitude” come to mind… so love and gratitude to all of you. ALL of you. Thank you.
“(oh! and happy birthday to @sanctionedjohnnygalecki and @kunalkarmanayyar – talk about good timing… may your next 12 years be as vibrant and wonderful as the last 12 years in which i’ve had the pleasure to know and work with you both).”
Leonard star Johnny also shared a heartfelt post to his 2.8 million Instagram followers.
He shared a photo of apartment 4B, where Sheldon and Amy Farrah Fowler (Mayim Bialik) live.
Johnny captioned the snap: “More feelings that words can express.”
The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays on CBS and in the UK on E4.
