Fans of The Big Bang Theory have called out Sheldon Cooper after rubbishing a joke on the sitcom – turns out, he did touch Stuart after all!
Jim Parsons’ character claims in the 12th episode of the 10th season that ‘to this day, I have never touched Stuart.’
Eagle-eyed Reddit detectives posted about the discovery – although some were willing to forgive Sheldon for his lapse in memory given that he had been drinking mimosas.
In fact, it turns out that six episodes earlier in the season, Sheldon did actually touch Stuart.
After hitting the cocktails pretty hard, the astrophysicist reached over the comic book shop owner, very clearly touching him on the shoulder.
‘Do you what else I love about you?’ Sheldon asked, slurring his words.
Forgetting you’ve done something after a drink? It’s not uncommon.
And fans certainly agreed, trying their best to explain the discrepancy in truth on the show.
‘In his defense, he was drunk and probably doesn’t remember doing that,’ one fan wrote.
Another guessed: ‘He isn’t touching Stuart, he’s touching the clothes of Stuart, Sheldon is very particular about things like that.’
