Terrifying new Netflix series will look at most haunted places in America

A creepy new series examining the most haunted locations in America is coming to a streaming service near you.

The currently untitled Netflix series will come from Joe Berlinger , the director of the landmark documentary series Conversations With a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes and the crime drama on the same serial killer Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, which starred Zac Efron as Bundy.

According to Variety , the series is described as "a gritty and meticulous study of some of America’s most notorious haunted locations."

Perhaps there will be a visit to the house that inspired The Amityville Horror.

112 Ocean Avenue in the town of Amityville, New York, became notorious due to the story of George and Kathy Lutz, the previous residents who claimed that shortly after moving into the house they came under fire from paranormal activity.

In the same announcement as this series, Netflix has also revealed another documentary series from director Rudy Valdez – the man behind the Oscar-nominated documentary film Deliver Us From Evil about Catholic Church sex abuses.

This series has been described as similar to the hit US drama Friday Night Lights, following an underdog football league in what has been dubbed "the deadliest neighbourhood in New York."

Release dates for the two new series have yet to be confirmed.
