Ted Cruz Taunts Jimmy Kimmel Over Sketch Showing God and Satan Condemning Senator to Hell

Cruz tries to bait the comedian into another grudge match.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz has clapped back at Jimmy Kimmel for airing a sketch in which God and Satan condemned him to Hell.

"Really getting into the Christmas spirit, Jimmy Kimmel just aired a skit with ‘God and Satan’ arguing and eventually deciding that I should go to Hell," the Texas senator tweeted Wednesday. "It’s almost as if Jimmy’s feelings are still hurt that I kicked his ass at hoops."

The basketball comment was in reference to Cruz beating Kimmel in a one-on-one game for charity over the summer, but what prompted the clapback was a segment the late-night host did on Tuesday’s "Jimmy Kimmel Live." He enlisted the help of comedian Billy Crystal to play God and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl to play Satan.

During a game "Who Goes Where?" with Kimmel, the two deities couldn’t decide who got stuck with Cruz.

"Which one of us is going to get Ted Cruz?" God asked.

Satan suggested they play a game of rock-paper-scissors in order to decide. God beat Satan, but the two forgot to agree upon the rules before playing the game.

"Ohhh! Rock crushes scissors!" God said. "Haha! Yeah, he’s all yours."

"Wait, you won!" Satan replied. "He’s all yours."

"No, no, I don’t want him," God said, looking over at the host. "Jimmy, that face for eternity? Ew."
