Susanna Reid thanks neighbours as her kitten Suki is returned after going missing

The Good Morning Britain host, 47, said she was "overwhelmed" by the kindness of her neighbours and fans as they pitched together and offered their support after her feline escaped on Saturday.

Alerting her Twitter followers that her cat was missing, a heartbroken Susanna wrote: ""My amazing, sweet Suki has disappeared.

"She is chipped, so I'm hoping some kind South London soul will take her to the vet on Monday & she can be ID'd."

Concerned fans quickly re-tweeted the message in their droves to help with the search.

Susanna's ITV co-stars Piers Morgan and Lorraine Kelly were among those who spread the word, with an anxious Lorraine writing: "Oh no! Please look for this beauty. So sorry @susannareid100 !"

But Susanna was soon put at ease when a neighbour was told of the whereabouts of the cat and left her house in the early hours to get her.

Thanking fans for their support, she gushed: "I am overwhelmed by the kindness of strangers, twitter friends, FB groups & neighbours.

"A lady living near me was alerted to a lost black cat and went in her car to collect her – at midnight.

"I opened the door to see Suki in her arms. Thank-you everyone. So much goodness."

Sharing her joy, friend Lorraine Kelly wrote: "Hurrah!!! Great news. There are some good people out there. Xxx."

Another fan enthused: "Oh, I'm so glad she's home, and what a wonderful way to get her back!"
