Suranne Jones gets frisky in steamy lesbian sex scene in drama Gentleman Jack

Suranne Jones is seen getting frisky in a steamy lesbian romp in her new show.

The actress, 40, has raunchy sex with another woman in her new TV drama Gentleman Jack.

The Doctor Foster star plays wealthy landowner and industrialist Anne Lister in the period drama.

The show is set in 1832 and based on a real-life story.

In the show, Anne returns home to West Yorkshire after travelling and sets herself the goal of transforming her faded ancestral home and finding herself a wife to settle down with.

And in the season premiere, it looks like she's already making strides towards ticking one of those things off her to do list.

The first episode was shown in the US last night, and Suranne is seen getting down to business in one steamy scene.

She's seen romping with her married lover, Marianna Lawton, who is played by Lydia Leonard.

The pair lie naked in bed together with Anne behind her lover.

The women have their hands all over each other as they work to pleasure one another between the sheets.

They're seen tangled together in passion before lying back and chatting about their lives.

Gentleman Jack is a co-production between HBO and the BBC.

The eight-episode series will air in the UK after it has been shown in the States.

Speaking about her role, Suranne told Digital Spy : "As you're playing her, you're aware that everybody has a right to be who they are, regardless of sexuality.

"And it's so uplifting – I've done a lot of shows that are quite dark… Doctor Foster was about betrayal and that sticky stuff within a marriage.

"Save Me and Frozen were about paedophilia and losing a child, which are very dark subjects that we're drawn to."

The show's star-studded cast also includes Gemma Whelan from Game of Thrones, Doctor Who's Peter Davison and Last Tango in Halifax's Timothy West.
