Sunday Brunch: Tim Lovejoy clashes with guest over Simon Rimmer recipe ‘I DON’T’

Sunday Brunch welcomed Nina Wadia to the show today and she was certainly a funny guest who was providing all of the laughs.

The former EastEnders actress was on hand to help Simon Rimmer with one of his monkfish recipes and she was certainly looking forward to tucking in.

Simon wanted to prepare a light Chimichurri Salad to go with his fish, but it was going to prove to be difficult for Tim Lovejoy to eat as it was full of coriander.

Fans of Sunday Brunch are well aware of the host’s aversion to the herb and Simon regularly leaves it out of any dishes he prepares.

When the chef explained he would do just that, Nina begged Simon to put it in.

“Oh please don’t [leave it out]… I love coriander,” she explained.

However, Tim was firm on his response, and snapped back: “Well I don’t.”

Nina explained how she wants to taste the proper meal as she’s not there every week.

Tim hit back: “Well, I’m on the show every week.”

An awkward silence followed until everyone burst out laughing at the clash.

Thankfully, Tim backed down and asked Simon to put the coriander in as a special treat for his guest.

Sunday Brunch fans were quick to comment on how much they loved Nina on the show on Twitter.

One wrote: “Nina is a brilliant guest. So fun!”

A second added: “I love @Nina_Wadia dress on #sundaybrunch anybody know where it’s from?”

Last week on Sunday Brunch, Simon Rimmer hit out at Davina McCall after a Game of Thrones gaffe.

Ahead of the finale, Tim and Simon chatted about the HBO fantasy show and asked viewers to send in their favourite chairs in light of the Iron Throne.

However, Davina wasn’t too impressed with the idea and insisted how she didn’t want to see people sitting on toilets.

Simon snapped back: “Davina! Your mind!”

He added: “Potty mind, Davina.”

Despite Davina’s reservations, fans sent in plenty of seats which weren’t toilet-based.

Sunday Brunch airs Sundays on Channel 4 from 9.30am.
