Strictly’s Lauren Steadman in tears after making massive mistake

Strictly Come Dancing star Lauren Steadman was left in tears after making a massive mistake during tonight’s routine.

The Paralympic champion bravely tried to hold in her emotions, but the harsh criticism for her Samba to Rock The Boat by The Hues Corporation finally got to her.

Lauren admitted: "It’s really hard and I really struggled this week with the samba."

Praising his partner, AJ Pritchard said: "For me Lauren’s Strictly journey has always been about ability and not disability. She has inspired a generation. Gorgeous on the inside as well as on the outside."

After receiving a score of 23, the other celebrities and dancers started chanting Lauren’s name, which prompted some tears.

Giving her feedback, Shirley Ballas said: "You have a larger than life partnership with this young man. But you had too many mistakes.

"You started your natural role on the boat you got on the wrong foot, you came down and got on the wrong foot gain. This was definitely not your best dance. I’m so sorry."

Bruno Tonioli said: "My baby I really felt for you. My darling it happens too us all.

"You got on the wrong foot and forgot a bit of the choreography. You tried to cover it up and carried on and you got to the end. In spite of it all."

Craig Revel Horwood was in agreement and also suggested that Lauren could have hidden her mistakes.

The judge said: "It’s just a shame isn’t it darling that it all went a little bit wrong. You could have covered it up by overacting or something. If you do make a mistake throw your hair about. It wasn’t your night."

On a similar vein, Darcey Bussell added: "Lauren you are such an inspiring lady and you’ve come so far. When you have to tackle so much in one week it is difficult. This one sadly did suffer so that’s a shame."

Strictly Come Dancing viewers felt bad for Lauren but admitted it was time for her to go.

One viewer said: "Bless Lauren and AJ. But that Tango was a mess."

"Lauren has really improved but it’s time to go. Poor AJ dragged her round that floor," added another.

A third said: "I’m sorry but it’s time for Lauren to go"

Strictly Come Dancing airs tonight on BBC One at 6.35pm
