Strictly’s Anton Du Beke denies claims he’s quitting Strictly Come Dancing insisting he ‘can’t leave ever’ – The Sun

STRICTLY Come Dancing professional Anton Du Beke has point blank denied rumours he's quitting the show.

The dad, a fans' favourite on the BBC One series, reached the final this weekend with EastEnders actress Emma Barton.

It was claimed Anton was waiting for a "strong year" on the iconic sequin studded series before stepping down yet he has denied this is the case.

Speaking on Monday's Lorraine, the 53-year-old, who has been on the show for 15 years, bluntly said: "No, it's absolute nonsense.

"It was made up before I had left the building even.

"It's hilarious. I can't leave ever, ever!"

Presenter Lorraine Kelly agreed and said he was a firm fixture of the Strictly family.

It had been previously claimed Anton had threatened to leave when he was not appointed to the Strictly judging panel.

Yet this time around, after reaching the final, the rumours re-surfaced.

A source told the Star: "Earlier this year he had a chat with the show's executive producers and explained how he was feeling.

"Anton doesn't want to be remembered for those poor scores.

"He's told producers he wanted to wait until he had a strong year before bowing out.

"With Emma he's had just that, so they won't be surprised if he decides to go."

Despite scoring an incredible 116 out of 120 in Saturday's grand final, Anton and Emma missed out on lifting the Glitterball, after it was won by Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse.
