Strictly’s Adam Thomas breaks silence as show appearance in doubt after illness

Strictly Come Dancing star Adam Thomas has spoken out for the first time after falling ill.

After his health took a turn for the worst, the 35-year-old actor was forced to pull out of an appearance on It Takes Two on Friday (October 27), leaving his future on Saturday night's (October 28) show in doubt. Taking to Instagram, Adam shared a quote with his one million followers that said: "Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and start being excited about what could go right."

Despite doubt being cast over Adam's appearance on tonight's show, fans have nothing to worry about as the star will be performing alongside professional partner Luba Mushtuk. A spokesperson for the BBC told The Sun: "Adam is feeling much better and will be performing tonight."

On Friday's episode of It Takes Two, Luba explained her partner's absence to presenters Janette Manrara and Fleur East. The 33-year-old told the duo: "He is resting now, he didn't feel very well but he is resting and getting ready for tomorrow night, everything will be fine."

Letting out a sigh of relief, X Factor star Fleur responded: "Ok, good, take all the rest you need Adam, we love you." Earlier today, Adam's wife Caroline Thomas joined him at rehearsals alongside their two children, Teddy, nine, and Elsie, five.

She shared a snap of the trio as they prepared to support Adam, who is performing an American Smooth to Magic Moments by Perry Como for Halloween week. The mum-of-two wrrote: "SCD week 6 rehearsals here we come," and tagged both Adam and Luba in the post.

It comes after Adam's co-star Amanda Abbington sensationally quit the BBC series due to "personal reasons". After Daily Star exclusively revealed she had left the show, the 51-year-old shared a statement on social media confirming her departure.

She wrote: "It is with deepest regret that I had to leave Strictly. I did not come to this decision easily or lightly but for personal reasons I am unable to continue.

"It was an absolute joy working with my fellow contestants, they are a beautiful, hardworking and talented group of people who I love and who I will miss seeing every Friday and Saturday and competing alongside. I want to thank the incredible Production team and everyone on Strictly who looked after me and who are so kind and caring."

The Sherlock actress added: "It’s a wonderful bunch of people and I’ll miss all of them. I’m so sad that I am unable to go any further. Thank you to everyone who voted and who sent wonderful messages and inspiring support. You are all amazing. Truly. Thank you. xxx."
