Strictly fans delighted as Bruno Tonioli returns to judging panel for Halloween Special

The Italian judge was absent from proceedings last Saturday night, and was replaced by Fresh Prince of Bel Air actor, Alfonso Ribeiro.

The move left fans confused, even though Bruno had forwarned them that he was taking a week off.

This was because Bruno was appearing on the panel across the pond on the US equivalent, Dancing With The Stars.

Last year, Bruno, 62, missed a week of filming for the first time in 15 years, and the producers chose not to replace him.

But this year they decided to bring Alfonso – who played Carlton Banks in the hit comedy alongside Will Smith – over to stand in for him.

A source close to the show previously said: "Everyone is excited to have Alfonso on the judging panel.

"He will bring great energy to show following his winning appearance on Dancing with The Stars."

While Alfonso, 47, was well received by viewers, Bruno was back in his rightful place tonight in time for the Halloween Special.

And fans of the show were delighted to see him, with one writing on Twitter: "Well nice to see bruno back #Strictly".

Another added: "Yay Bruno is back".

While a third tweeted: "Welcome back Bruno" along with two blowing a kiss emojis.
