Strictly Come Dancing’s Pasha Kovalev reveals weird way of getting top marks

Pasha Kovalev has revealed the secret behind his success, chatting to It Takes Two’z Zoe Ball.

The Strictly Come Dancing pro performer, who got a perfect 40 with his partner, Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts, is one of the top scoring dancers on the whole show.

Zoe Ball revealed he had got the most 10s of any pro on the show, but it turns out there’s a special secret as to why this has happened.

When asked about what Pasha’a secret to her success is, Zoe shows a little video on Instagram by Joe Sugg, about all of the amazing cakes backstage during the Blackpool episode.

As Joe talks about how gorgeous the delicious goodies look and scans all the cakes, Pasha reaches in among them and picks up the grapes, as Joe jokes: "Oh and Pasha goes for the grapes."

Zoe and Ashley giggle as the clip goes on, as Ashley interjects, saying: "He loves grapes!"

Then Zoe chimes in: "That’s where you’ve been going wrong, grapes, not cakes!

"It’s so obvious, isn’t it?!"

The pair have topped the leaderboard for a long time, but a lot of people suggested there was possibly a fix going on as four couples got the top 10s.

Ashley and Pasha received a score of 40 for their jive to Shake Ya Tail Feather by The Blues Brothers.

But some Strictly fans claimed it was ‘set up’ for Ashley, who has dancing experience from her singing days, to end the Blackpool extravaganza with a bang.

There were 10s flying everywhere in the Tower Ballroom as four couples received the top mark.

Faye Tozer and Giovanni Pernice, who were dancing the Paso Doble to Unstoppable, got a 10 from Bruno Tonioli and Shirley Ballas while Charles Venn and Karen Clifton also got two 10s from the same judges for their samba.

Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell, who were dancing a Quickstep to Dancin’ Fool by Copacabana, got three 10s.

It Takes Two airs weekdays at 6.30pm and on Fridays at 6pm on BBC2.
