Strictly Come Dancing reveals songs and dances for Musicals Week

We’re down to the final six celebrities on Strictly Come Dancing, and their next challenge is Musicals Week.

BBC has released the full list of songs and dances for the weekend, with iconic tunes from musicals such as Les Misérables and The Sound of Music among those to be played this Saturday.

Ashley Roberts and Pasha Kovalev, who survived the most recent dance-off, will be tackling the quickstep to Funny Girl‘s ‘Don’t Rain on My Parade’.

Lauren Steadman and her partner AJ Pritchard will have South Pacific‘s ‘I’m in Love with a Wonderful Guy’ as their music, as they take on the American Smooth Viennese waltz.

Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton are doing the American Smooth foxtrot to Les Misérables‘ ‘I Dreamed a Dream’, sung by Fantine (played by Oscar winner Anne Hathaway in the 2012 movie).

Faye Tozer and her partner Giovanni Pernice are performing the Charleston to The Sound of Music‘s ‘The Lonely Goatherd’, while Charles Venn and Karen Clifton will be dancing to West Side Story‘s ‘Maria’ as they take on the rumba.

Finally, Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell will be doing the salsa to a Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat megamix.

Last weekend saw the end of Graeme Swann and Oti Mabuse, as they became the ninth pair to be eliminated from this series’ competition.

“Honestly, I thought I could beat anyone in the dance-off until they said ‘Ashley and Pasha’,” Graeme joked on Monday’s edition of Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two. “I said to Oti, ‘[Ashley’s] gonna have to fall over. No, she’s gonna have to fall over twice!'”

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday (December 1) at 7.05pm on BBC One, and then the top six become the top five on Sunday (December 2) at 7.20pm.

This week’s results show includes music from the Queen musical We Will Rock You, featuring Adam Lambert.
