BBC viewers know just how tense it can get on Strictly Come Dancing and it seems it was all too much for one celebrity. It’s reported one contestant had a major panic attack, putting a stop to the practice for the popular BBC series.

The star struggled to continue dancing as their anxiety got the better of them.

Producers and cast reportedly tried to console them ahead of the high-pressured live show.

An onlooker explained: “She was very upset she just couldn’t stop crying and hyperventilating.”

Speaking to The Sun, they continued: “In the end, there was no choice but to stop rehearsals.”

Express.co.uk has contacted BBC for a comment about the incident.

The Strictly stars for the 2022 series have been very open about how intense training can be.

Before her Quickstep, Morning Live host Kym Marsh explained it had been tough learning the speedy routine.

Speaking on It Takes Two, she told Janette Manrara: Just about, yeah! It was fast, wasn’t it? I said, ‘Turns out the Quickstep’s quick!'”

She went on to add: “But do you know what? We had so much fun.

“After having a day of a bit of a meltdown, I got on there and I just thought, ‘Do you know what? Let’s just have fun.’

“And we did and we went out and just enjoyed ourselves, didn’t we?”

“We had the best time,” Graziano answered. “Especially when they called our name after.”

She also opened up on her hectic schedule, stating: “Sometimes it’s hard because there’s a lot going on in my life, there’s a lot of things.

“There’s Waterloo Road, there’s Morning Live, there’s my family – there’s a lot of things going on and then you have to take on board learning dances and travelling and everything else.

“And sometimes you can let your head go into a place… and actually, today I managed to get myself out of that – on my own!”

Elsewhere, Will Mellor said he has been left “knackered” during training for this week’s show.

“Seriously, it makes me knackered even listening to the song!” he told Janette on a recent It Takes Two.

“The clue’s in the title with the Quickstep! I took my shoes off the other day, they were purple!

“I was like, ‘Is this normal? Is it normal?'”

He added: “It’s absolutely knackering, but, there’s a big but here – I love it!

“It’s just you know, I’m a shadow of my former self today because I’ve had three days of that, running around.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6.30pm on BBC One.
