2018 marks the first year in Strictly Come Dancing history that Brendan Cole hasn’t been part of the professional line-up.
The dancer, who revealed last year that the BBC had decided not to renew his contract, has now declared that he would return to the show – but there’s a catch.
Speaking on Lorraine, he said: “It’s totally a part of my past now, I have had the most amazing year.
“This has come at just the right time for me and I have had so many incredible opportunities which I wouldn’t have otherwise had if I hadn’t been on the show.
“Strictly takes over your life. If they asked, I wouldn’t go back unless it was in another role.”
In fact, he added: “I would go back in a different role. I would love to be a judge…”
Brendan also gave his feelings on Susannah Constantine leaving the show first with partner Anton du Beke.
“I am a little bit surprised she went, because the underdog usually gets a boost from the audience,” he said.
“Having said that, it wasn’t very good. I felt really sorry for her, it just felt like she didn’t know what was going on.”
Susanna recently slammed reports she had a backstage tantrum following her dance off with Lee Ryan.
Posting a screenshot of a tabloid headline on her Instagram page, Susannah simply commented: “Bollocks, bollocks and more bollocks.”
Well, we think that settles that.
Strictly Come Dancing continues with Movie Week next Saturday (October 6) at 6.30pm on BBC One, with the results show airing on Sunday (October 7) at 7.45pm – right after the new episode of Doctor Who.
