Strictly Come Dancing bosses 'want Royal Family member for new series'

The BBC has a wish list with the likes of Zara Phillips, her husband Mike Tindall and Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, according to a new report.

A source told The Sunday Mirror: "Strictly is a proper family show and hugely respected, so bosses think it wouldn’t be a problem for a royal to take to the dance floor."

It comes after Sophie, Countess of Wessex and her daughter Lady Louise Windsor appeared in the audience of the show.

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall is known to be a huge fan of the show.

The newspaper notes that Mike Tindall appeared on The Jump in 2014 despite being married to the daughter of Princess Anne.

It is claimed he is "good friends" with the celebrity booker on the show.

They are said to be hoping he will either sign up or convince his horse rider wife to appear on the show.

A Strictly spokesman said: "We don’t comment on speculation and the line-up will be announced in due course."

Chris Evans, Huw Edwards and Alan Carr have all been rumoured to be joining the show for the new series.

Happy Mondays star Bez, Rylan Clark-Neal and even Michael Caine have all been reportedly approached to take to the dance floor to win the coveted Glitterball trophy.

Investigative journalist Stacey Dolley won last year's show with partner Kevin Clifton.
