Strictly Christmas special stars get their panto gear on as Caroline Flack, Jake Wood and Ann Widdecombe take to the dancefloor

Caroline Flack, Jake Wood and Ann Widdecombe have posed up with their pro partners ahead of the episode, which will air on Christmas Day.

TV presenter Caroline, who won the show in 2014 with Pasha Kovalev, will dance the Charleston dressed as Pinocchio with professional partner Gorka Marquez on this year's Christmas special.

She said training with Marquez, who was paired with presenter Katie Piper on this year's series, had reminded her how demanding her time on the show had been.

She admitted: "I'd forgotten how exhausting it is. Last time I was this exhausted was four years ago.

"It's been really nice and really funny – Gorka's really funny. Because it's Christmas and it's silly, it's a silly routine, a Charleston, so it's just messing around really."

The theme for this year’s festive extravaganza is fairytales and making dreams come true.

The festive treat will also feature Ann Widdecombe, the former politician and Celebrity Big Brother star who competed on Strictly in 2010.

She will be dancing with Anton Du Beke.

Aston Merrygold – former JLS singer and TV star who appeared on Strictly in 2017  will also get to dance with original partner Janette Manrara.

Jake Wood – EastEnders star who was a huge hit on Strictly in 2014- is dancing with Luba Mushtak and performing as a king.

Anita Rani who competed in series 13, will dance the foxtrot with Neil Jones.

While Michael Vaughn – former England cricketer who took part in the show in 2012,  will dance with Lee Ryan's former pro dancer Nadiya Bychkova.

It is then down to the studio audience to vote for which dancing duo will win and lift the famous Silver Star trophy.

The show will be hosted by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.

The festive special also wouldn’t be complete without the usual judging panel.

Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Head Judge Shirley Ballas will all be putting the celebrity dancers through their paces.

The Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special will air on BBC One on Christmas Day at 5.30pm.
