By her own admission, Strictly Come Dancing was a “roller coaster” for Faye Tozer.
But, thankfully, despite photographs of dance partner Giovanni Pernice stroking her face over lunch, the Steps singer and her husband of nine years, Michael, have not fallen victim to the Strictly curse.
“Me and Michael are solid,” she tells the Mirror, clarifying Giovanni was wiping salad from her face. She says being on Strictly, you have to take rumours “with a pinch of salt”.
“Me and Michael were on the phone all the time,” she adds. “As long as we know we’re fine, that’s all that matters.”
After finishing as a finalist last Saturday – and “politely ducking out” of singing Steps songs on karaoke at the wrap party – the Steps star, 43, was back on the school run on Monday afternoon, picking up nine-year-old son Benjamin.
She says it was a surprise for him, “and we had a lovely embrace”.
After a month in a London hotel, Faye now wants a Christmas at home and will be “turning the phones off” before preparing to star in Queer As Folk 20, Still Doin It Live, in Manchester in February.
