Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) could be about lose everything dear to him as Geoff’s (Ian Bartholomew) hold over him leads him to make a shocking decision in Coronation Street – as he takes his demonic dad’s side over his wife Sally (Sally Dynevor).
For weeks, Sally has patiently tried to take things at Tim’s pace and hope that he will eventually see the truth about Geoff’s true nature. However, Geoff’s level of manipulation towards his son over the years has left Tim particularly vulnerable to his lies.
In upcoming weeks, Tim’s mum Elaine (Paula Wilcox) – who Geoff has always told his son is dead – turns up and reveals that she too was abused by Geoff and he made her life hell. She goes on to say that he lied about his death but will Tim is clearly thrown, he refuses to believe it.
Geoff claims that Elaine is a liar and a madwoman who has constructed this story with Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) but when he comes face to face with Elaine, he turns nasty with her. Alya is then left worried when Elaine disappears and she can’t get hold of her.
Thinking Geoff has harmed her, Alya reports her missing but Geoff sticks to his guns and insists that Tim’s mum is long dead. When Faye Windass (Ellie Leach) asks who he was arguing with in the ginnel, Geoff is forced to admit that he did confront Elaine – but only to tell her to stop lying about him.
Sally and Alya determine for him to tell the truth but as Geoff keeps up the act, Tim burns Elaine’s number and tells Sally that he is sick of her accusations against Geoff.
With Tim having picked his side and Elaine gone, will Sally give up on Tim? Or will she fight to get him to see the truth for everyone’s sake?
