Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) has found his control slipping as Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) sees him for the monster that he is in Coronation Street. While she has been in prison and away from his destructive influence, she has realised exactly the kind of man he is – and how he treated her.
Facing a prison sentence for attempting to kill her vile abuser, Yasmeen gradually has regained her fighting spirit and when she pleaded not guilty, Geoff was furious.
With many residents of the Street turning against him and not believing his version of events, Geoff has been left battling to maintain his false facade of a happy-go-lucky hospital radio presenter.
Sally (Sally Dynevor) recently shared the view of Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) that Geoff was in fact the villain of the piece and Yasmeen shouldn’t be in prison.
After a fresh discovery that Geoff once locked Yasmeen in a magic box and left her there, a disgusted Sally arranges to visit Yasmeen in secret and she hears for herself what Geoff put her through.
Discovering that Yasmeen has another ally in Sally shakes Geoff to the core – to the point where he snaps and becomes very intimidating towards Sally.
With Sally in no doubt of what he is capable of, Geoff tries to turn the tables and goes back to targeting Yasmeen – chancing his luck by requesting a visit with her.
But when she is strong enough to resist this means of him getting to her, he finds another way – by intercepting a call from Yasmeen to Alya.
When Yasmeen hears Geoff’s voice down the line, she is petrified – but what will Geoff say to her?
How far will he threaten her this time – and will he destroy all the confidence she has rebuilt in herself in one swift and shattering movement?
