Spoilers: DI Thompson confronts Phil about the heist in huge EastEnders showdown

DI Steve Thompson (Phillip Wright) confronts archenemy Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) in EastEnders tonight (November 19) in the wake of the botched heist job.

Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) was desperate for money in order to pay the ridiculous rent on No. 31 Albert Square following Suki Panesar’s (Balvinder Sopal) decision to raise the price once again.

Therefore, she begged Phil to assist her in carrying off the heist of the century 2020.

Phil was ultimately against helping her, but once he discovered the flash classic motors that were on offer, he reconsidered.

Ben (Max Bowden), Shirley Carter (Linda Henry), and Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) all assisted him with the heist, but things ultimately went pair-shaped when the police showed up — having been tipped off by Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt).

As Phil got out of dodge, DI Thompson saw him clear as day, and he seethed with rage as a result.

In tonight’s instalment, the bent copper pays Phil a visit in The Queen Vic.

He’s got some serious questions for Walford’s resident hard-man, and as he quizzes him, Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) watches on.

What will Phil have to say for himself?

Will Thompson be able to arrest Phil? Or will the Albert Square legend perhaps be able to cover his tracks?

One thing’s for sure: Thompson will do whatever it takes to take Phil down!

EastEnders airs these scenes on Thursday November 19 at 7:35pm on BBC One.
