Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse trailer hides an awesome Black Panther Easter egg

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse looks like a huge love letter to fans of the character, and Marvel Comics in general.

So it’s no surprise that there are a few references and Easter eggs hidden in the latest trailer, with one showing some love to the big breakout superhero film of the year, Black Panther.

Meanwhile, Bill Rosemann, who is an Executive Creative Director for Marvel’s games division, noticed a shout-out to the recently released Spider-Man game by Insomniac on PlayStation 4, which is really, really good by the way.

“I spy with my little eye a special suit to the right of Peter Parker’s shoulder in this scene from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” he wrote, referencing the ‘white spider’ suit that debuted in the game.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse focuses on Miles Morales, who becomes the wall crawler in Marvel’s Ultimate comics line. In this animated movie, he discovers web-heads from multiple universes, which are all under threat.

Shameik Moore, Liev Schreiber, Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali, Lily Tomlin and Nicolas Cage are all set to star in the film, which will be released on December 14.

Let’s hope it is a better movie than Venom, which is Sony’s other foray into a non-MCU Spider-Man film project this year, which didn’t impress critics (including Digital Spy).

Venom is out now in the UK and will be released in the US on October 5. Book tickets here.
