Sherri Shepherd Reveals Hosting Wendy Williams’ Talk Show Is Her ‘Silent Dream’ Amid Jealousy Rumors

Taking to her social media platform, the former ‘The View’ co-host expresses her gratitude to the ailing TV hostess, who is reportedly ‘crazy jealous’ over the guest host’s success, for letting her ‘sit in’ on the show.

AceShowbizSherri Shepherd is expressing her gratitude. Taking to her social media page, the former “The View” co-host revealed that hosting “The Wendy Williams Show” is her “silent dream.” Her post came after it’s reported that Wendy Williams is “jealous over” her success.

On Friday, December 17, the 54-year-old posted a series of photos and videos of her behind-the-scenes on her Instagram account. “My final day on @wendyshow … thank you #wendywilliams for letting me sit in for you and at the same time live a silent dream,” the TV hostess, who donned a Santa Clause-inspired dress with a corset, captioned her post. “Tune in today for a Merry Sherri Christmas!”

Her post has since been flooded with fans begging her to “permanently” host the daytime talk show. “Why can’t you just stand in for Wendy full time?” one asked, which prompted her to respond, “That’s not what they want. I am content [love emoji].”

“Dang I thought you had 2 weeks,” a separate social media user commented. In response, Sherri wrote, “One is enough,” adding a laughing with tears emoji. One person chimed in, “When do you start full time on the show?? You’re the best host she has had this season!!”

Another person, who was concerned about her health following her emergency appendicitis surgery, penned, “You look so festive and joyous. Sherri, you’re an amazing person to finish your stint as guest host after having emergency surgery. I was concerned, but you look like you’re just fine so I’m going to hush and let God keep doing His wonderful work.” Sherri then replied, “When I tell you the miracle that God worked out in my body. I was not in ANY pain…just tenderness [love emoji].”

Prior to this, Wendy reportedly got “crazy jealous” over the show’s ratings that continue to rise with Sherri. “Sherri is the closest to Wendy that her fans are going to get, and she’s funny,” a source told The Sun on Wednesday, December 15. “Wendy can’t stand watching people fill in for her. She just can’t and especially someone like Sherri, who is getting the love from her own audience.”

The insider further noted that Wendy is frustrated as her health struggles keep her off her iconic purple chair. “Wendy gets crazy jealous and having to sit on the sidelines is eating her up, but there’s no way around it,” the informant told the outlet. “The show must continue and when Sherri’s on, the numbers go up.”

It’s reported that the show’s producers are contemplating replacing Wendy as the show’s ratings continue to soar with Sherri filling in. “No-one expected ratings to go up 32% without Wendy. The fill-in hosts were just supposed to keep the show’s lights on until Wendy was well enough to return,” a source spilled of the talk show’s guest hosts, including Leah Remini, Michael Rapaport and Remy Ma.

“In fact, when Sherri Shepherd took over she not only retained all of Wendy’s fans but also brought in a whole new audience too,” the insider explained. “This is why the search has changed from finding a temporary replacement to a full-time one.”

Shortly after the jealousy rumors circulated online, another report claimed that Wendy is ready to make “a big comeback” to her show. “If anybody thinks Wendy is done with television and show business in general, they’re sadly mistaken,” a source informed HollywoodLife.com on Thursday, December 16. “Wendy has been in this industry almost her entire life and she’s definitely preparing to make a big comeback.”

The insider went on saying, “She’s feeling better every day and has every intention on coming back to her show, and even wants to work on some other projects in the upcoming year.” The informant added, “Wendy never planned on not returning so that’s not something that’s even on her radar.”
