Roxanne Pallett's Emmerdale co-star Adele Silva says her behaviour "rang alarm bells"

Former Emmerdale star Adele Silva has spoken out about her co-star Roxanne Pallett’s behaviour, admitting it previously “rang alarm bells”.

Adele, who first joined the soap as Kelly Windsor in 1993, was speaking on Fubar Radio when she suggested Roxanne’s Celebrity Big Brother drama was unsurprising.

“When someone has a reputation and they’ve been fired from different jobs, or lots of people are claiming they’ve been bullied or accused of different things, then it’s baffling that I think that person gets employed again and again and again,” she explained (via The Mirror).

Referring to Roxanne’s controversial ‘punching’ allegations against CBB housemate Ryan Thomas, Adele added: “You get to a situation like this and you think, ‘This was going to happen at some point’.”

“I think when 20-plus people speak out about a certain person and they’re probably not that vocal on Twitter anyway… there’s no smoke without fire,” she said.

Adele isn’t the only co-star of Roxanne’s to speak out about the incident – Pallett’s former on-screen husband, Kevin Fletcher, called her actions “evil” in a series of tweets last week.

“She’s not ‘mentally ill’ or in need of ‘help’. That denounces that people with actual mental health issues are as vindictive and menacing as her. They are not. There is a big difference.

“That was calculated and manipulative beyond belief,” he wrote.

Despite rumours to the contrary, a spokesperson for Emmerdale has confirmed that Roxanne’s character Jo Sugden will not be returning. “There are no plans,” they said.

Since voluntarily leaving the Big Brother house, Roxanne has apologised for her comments, telling Jeremy Vine and Emma Willis that she had “got it wrong” and was “devastated”.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.

Celebrity Big Brother airs its next live eviction tonight (September 7) at 9pm on Channel 5, followed by Bit on the Side at 11.30pm.
