Roger Mathews Vows to 'Win My Wife Back' After JWoww Files for Divorce: 'I Don't Blame Her'

Roger confirms the divorce news in a video message, saying they’re in counseling and he’ll “win her affection back.”

News broke Thursday afternoon that "Jersey Shore" star Jenni "JWoww" Farley had filed for divorce from her husband of less than three years, Roger Mathews. On Thursday night, Roger confirmed the news in an Instagram video, saying he understood the reasoning behind her decision.

Without offering up too many details, Roger put to rest any talk that there was cheating going on by either party. He said Jenni simply "grew tired of the repetitive pattern" they fell into — but did not reveal what that pattern was. He just said it was "not a good one."

Roger also said he’s "not done fighting," noting he plans to "win" his wife, her affection and her love back. "I have no intentions of being a single dad," he said, adding that the two are currently in counseling, "so there is hope."

Roger captioned the video, "Praying for a better tomorrow. Sorry, world, I’m taking a day off from praying for you today, and I’m just gonna pray for my family. Hope springs eternal."

Here’s everything he said:

Alright, so here you go, you bloodthirsty bastards that have to know what’s going on. You’re the same people that go to a hockey game to see a fight break out and go to NASCAR to see somebody get wrecked in a car and get mangled.

Nah, I’m kidding. Some of you are actually probably genuinely concerned. I appreciate that.

My wife filed for divorce. It’s true. I’m just gonna keep it simple. I don’t blame her. There’s no cheating or any dumb shit or juicy details. She just grew tired of the repetitive pattern that we fell into with, um, again, I’m not gonna get into details, but it was a repetitive pattern and not a good one.

But here’s what’s also true: I’m not done fighting. I’m gonna win my wife back. I’m gonna win her affection back. I’m gonna win her love back. I have no intentions of being a single dad. We’re in counseling, so there is hope. It ain’t over until the fat lady sings.

According to Asbury Park Press in New Jersey, Jenni, 32, filed the divorce complaint Sept. 12 in Superior Court in Ocean County. She cited "irreconcilable differences."

"The Plaintiff and the Defendant have irreconcilable differences which have caused the breakdown of the marriage for a period of at least six months, which make it appear that the marriage should be dissolved and that there is no prospect of reconciliation," her complaint reads.

Roger, 43, is a truck driver who has appeared regularly on MTV’s "Jersey Shore" and "Jersey Shore: Family Vacation." The two tied the knot back in October 2015 and share two kids: Meilani, 4, and Greyson, 2.

Jenni’s castmate and best friend, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, commented on E! News’ Instagram post about the divorce, writing, "Stop, I’m crying."

Snooki also shared a sweet message on her own Instagram while promoting last night’s "Jersey Shore: Family Vacation."

"We are forever, my love," she captioned a screenshot from the episode.

Reps for Jenni, Roger and MTV were not immediately available for comment.
