The couple, who have been dating for two years, revealed their happy news during their holiday in Abu Dhabi last week.
And after being hit with thousands of congratulatory messages, Rio, 39, took to Instagram today to pay tribute to his fans and their unwavering support.
He wrote: "Big thanks to everyone for all their messages on our engagement… appreciate it!"
Before adding beside a love heart emoji: "Feeling the love… now back to work!"
The pair are clearly still on cloud nine after getting engaged, with Kate also documenting their celebrations at home this morning.
The 27-year-old shared a sweet snap of Rio's three kids – Lorenz, 11, Tate, nine and Tia, seven – greeting her at their house with large silver balloons, spelling out the words: "She said yes!"
Posting the photo to her Instagram story, she added the caption: "The cutest ever!"
The former footballer got down on one knee in front of his three kids on the top of a sky scraper in Abu Dhabi.
Sharing a snap of the special moment, Kate wrote excitedly to fans: "The perfect end to our holiday … How could the answer not be yes!”
Rio found love with the former reality star after the death of his wife Rebecca to breast cancer in 2015.
Kate gave up her role on Towie last year to focus on their relationship, and help look after his three children.
Sources told The Sun Online yesterday that the pair are already planning to have a baby of their own, after months of his brood begging them for a sibling.
