Rebel Wilson says she's going to eat up to 1,000 more calories a day after reaching goal weight of 165 pounds

REBEL Wilson will be eating up to 1,000 calories more a day – now that she's reached her goal weight of 165 pounds.

The Bridesmaids actress has dropped more than 40 pounds in her "year of health" transformation.

Rebel, 40, said she'll be working to "maintain" her target weight by having 2,000 to 2,500 calories a day.

"I'm going to eat more and go into a maintenance phase," she told fans in an Instagram Live Q&A session on Tuesday.

"It'll probably be about 2,000 to 2,500 [calories] because I do work out like a beast.

"So I do need a little bit more now that I’ve hit my goal weight and maintaining it."

She explained that she was on a "high protein diet" while losing the weight and would have chicken, salmon and protein shakes.

"My body just responds well to protein," she said.

"Nutritionally, the only thing is I do try to stay under 1,500 calories because of my body type. If want to lose weight in that week, I kind of have to stay under the 1,500 [calories] each day."

Rebel hit her target weight at the end of last month, sharing the good news in her Instagram Stories.

She said that while her weight loss wasn’t “about a number” she needed a tangible measurement to have as a goal. 

At the beginning of 2020 told her fans she was embarking on a year of health and planned on overhauling her diet and fitness. 

Since then, the Pitch Perfect actress has been documenting her weight loss journey on social media, keeping her followers up to date with her progress. 

The star is also loved up with hunky boyfriend Jacob Busch.

The beautiful couple began dating after they were introduced by a friend, and the two have been sharing their romance with fans on social media ever since.

Rebel recently made it clear that she began dating the billionaire before she started losing weight.

“Some people on social media say, 'Oh, well you lost weight and then you got a hot boyfriend.' But, what I do want to say to those people is that I actually dated Jacob when I was at my heaviest as well," she told E! News.

“So, it's not like I suddenly lost weight, and then you're like, oh, you get a hot boyfriend—that's not how it works. This guy liked me at 100 kilos and now 75 kilos."

She added: “I just want to be clear about that. There's something really comforting in that to me because you're like, oh, it wasn't necessarily of what my body type was. He really likes me for me.”

Reflecting on her year, Rebel exclusively told The Sun: “Weirdly this year was always going to be the year of health. I've been naming my years now, and, that's kind of having these resolutions but for the whole year.”

She added: “It’s not like I want to lose weight and get to a certain number. It’s more than that.

“It’s about dealing mentally with why I was overeating and I had a job where I was paid a lot of money to be bigger at times, which can kind of mess with your head a bit.”
