Pure, which is based on a true story, is a unique Canadian crime drama exploring the world of drug trafficking and the Mennonite community. It first started in 2017 but the series is now back with its second series. But who is in the cast and when does it start?
When does Pure season 2 start?
Pure season two started on May 28 with episodes airing on WGN America.
The show was not originally picked up for a second series but Hulu and Super Channel announced its return in April 2018.
Now the new show in running weekly in the USA and Canada.
There’s no word on when it will be coming to the UK yet but we’ll be sure to update this article if it does.
Who stars in Pure season 2?
Ryan Robbins stars as Mennonite pastor Noah Funk in the Canadian show.
His wife is played by Alex Paxton-Beesley who has made her name in shows like The Strain and Good Witch.
Other returning characters include Hector Estrada (played by Victor Gomez) as the cunning drug cartel boss and police accountant Valerie Krochak (Zoie Palmer) who is trying to find him.
What is Pure season 2 about?
The first series of the show followed newly elected Mennonite pastor Noah Funk on his mission to rid his community of drug traffickers.
Pure season two picks up after Noah Funk has been separated from his family following the clash with a drug cartel.
His wife Anna and their children Isaak and Tina are all desperate to return to their community while Valerie Krochak remains on the hunt for Hector Estrada.
As the series begins we see Anna Funk try her luck surviving solo and becoming the boss in order to protect her family.
Is there a trailer for Pure season 2?
Yes, the trailer gives us a glimpse at Anna Funk one year after she’s been excommunicated.
She said: “It has been a year since we were ex-communicated, we’ll be homeless soon.”
“But I will make sure our children survive.”
With hints at some literally explosive moments, the trailer gives a glimpse of what the second series has to offer.
