Professor Green praised by fans after releasing emotional track Photographs which touches on his father’s suicide

The track, which also features Rag N Bone man, touches on his father’s suicide.

Pro, real name Stephen Manderson, has always spoken openly about his father taking his own life when Pro was 24.

He said of the song:Photographs conjure up so many different emotions.

“The ones I miss the most are the ones I never took.

“They are for me in many ways the memories I don’t have – especially the ones from my childhood. I wish I had more.”

Stephen chose a picture of him as a child, sitting on his dad’s lap, for the single’s artwork.

After the song was released, he asked his fans to share their pictures with him.

He said after reading some of their messages:  “We didn't realise through being so open about our losses we'd create an online community where we can all share our cherished photographs and grieve together.

“I've read stories that have brought me to tears and seen pictures that have made me smile through them.”

One fan told him: “I have never listened to a song that means so much, and that will forever remind me of my dad.”

While another praised his openness and said: “I think this is an amazing idea, I take any excuse I can to talk about my nana and grandad and look through old photos of them.”

Photographs, released via Relentless/Sony, is available across all platforms now.
