Power season 5 finale's ending leaks online days before TV debut

Note: The following article contains spoilers for Power fans not up-to-date on last weekend’s episode, but no finale spoilers.

Ghost isn’t just dealing with snitches in the fictional world of Power — he’s dealing with a serious breach in real life now too!

Four days ahead of the show’s fifth season finale premiering on Starz in the US, a crucial scene from Sunday’s finale has leaked online and sent shockwaves through the show’s hugely passionate fan community.

Digital Spy will not be revealing any spoilers from the episode, but has reached out to Starz representatives to find out if an internal or criminal investigation into the leak is underway.

Several other high-profile shows have faced similar fates over the last few years. Earlier this year, the BBC went to court over a leaked scene from the upcoming Doctor Who series while HBO has upped its own internal security with self-destructing scripts after a series of Game of Thrones breaches.

What the producers of Power have revealed about the finale is that it will largely centre around Angela (Lela Loren) and Ghost (Omari Hardwick), following last week’s twist that Angela’s colleagues had discovered she’d been complicit in Ghost’s criminality.

“If you want to know where they end up for the rest of their lives, that’s answered in the finale,” co-showrunner Gary Lennon promised TVGuide earlier this week.

Power airs on Sunday (September 9) at 9pm ET on Starz in the US and on Netflix in the UK. A sixth season has already been ordered.
