Power’s hit spin-off series has become a major success with loyal fans streaming Starz to follow Tariq St Patrick’s (played by Michael Rainey Jr) hectic life. This time it was queen pin Monet Tejada (Mary J Blige) who left fans completely stunned after a major revelation forced fans to share their reaction on Twitter.
Throughout the series, viewers have seen how Monet has successfully kept the Tejada drug cartel afloat while her husband Lorenzo Tejada (Berto Colon) was incarcerated.
As well as keeping her children on a tight leash, she also had a mysteriously close relationship with her nephew Zeke Cross (Daniel Bellomy).
As the basketball prodigy for Stansfield University, Monet has remained strict on him to focus in hopes of his success becoming a way out from the drug business.
While Monet is known as his hard to please aunt, Sunday’s episode revealed she is in fact his mother.
While many questioned the whereabouts of his parents, the latest episode also exposed his father was Dante also known as Mecca (Daniel Sunjata).
Mecca made his first appearance in the season two premiere as a major drug distributor introduced by Cane Tejada (Woody McClain).
After being kicked out by his mother Monet, Cane tried to find a way back into the family by offering Mecca’s supply after he secretly switched out their drugs for powdered sugar.
Fans got an insight into his history with Monet in episode two, after she called him by his real name ‘Dante.’
However, in the most recent episode viewers learned the two were once in love and Monet never told him about her pregnancy with Zeke.
At the end of the episode, he told Monet: “We need to fight for Zeke now, let me do that, by your side. We’ll save our son together.”
Fans were left gobsmacked as they took to Twitter to share their reactions, with anopensecret asking: “Mecca is Zeke daddy?!”
XOKeebz_ worked out the timeline and shared:” Zeke is their son he was born in 1998 and cane was born in 1999 … meaning she had Zeke before meeting Lorenzo also remember her telling Mecca ‘this ain’t my mom house can’t be knocking over trash cans.’”

Brianna tweeted: “I thought Mecca was Cane’s daddy. Shocked the hell out of me.”
“I have so many questions about Zeke’s childhood/back story now,” tweeted a confused Nicha.
The scene closed with Monet and Mecca sharing a kiss, which added him to the list of men she’s cheated on Lorenzo with.
At the beginning of season two, the show’s creator Courtney Kemp opened up to TVLine about their relationship.
She revealed: “Let’s just say they had a relationship when they were teenagers, and he went off and now has become an international man of mystery, and has come back into her life at a really inopportune moment… it’s never a good time!”
Mecca didn’t seem to be disappointed when he discovered Zeke was his son, instead, he began paying for his legal bills.
However, in true Power style, things won’t be happy for long as Deadline previously described Mecca as “ calculated, manipulative, and dangerous”.
With his huge soft spot for Monet, things are set to get complicated after her last lover was murdered by Cane.
