Since Piers Morgan walked off set and quit ITV’s Good Morning Britain there has been mounting speculation as to where he will go next. Today Piers announced he will be launching Rupert Murdoch’s new channel which will be broadcast in the UK, the USA, and Australia. On Twitter, Piers wrote: “I’ve gone home. Great to be re-joining Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation after 28 years. The place I started my media career, with the boss who gave me my first big break. We’re going to have a lot of fun.”

News UK’s new channel talkTV will launch early next year and will be widely accessible on TV and social media for the entire UK population.
talkTV bosses say the channel will feature a diverse range of content that no other service provides, including hourly news bulletins, sports and entertainment shows as well as current affairs, debate, opinion and documentaries.
Scott Taunton, CEO of News UK Broadcasting, said: “News UK’s brands already engage millions of people through print, digital and audio and we are using those brands to create video programming.”
He added: “We have some of media’s biggest names on our radio stations and in our newspapers, as well as some of the most articulate thought-leaders who reflect many different viewpoints.
“Some of the most talented people in news, sports and entertainment journalism will be taking part as contributors or creating original content for talkTV.”
News UK has announced that talkTV shows will be introduced using talent from its own brand such as talkRADIO, talkSPORT, Virgin Radio, Times Radio, The Sun, The Times and The Sunday Times.
With the financial backing of Rupert Murdoch, the new channel is likely to havd no studio expense spared.
After senior journalist, Andrew Neil, resigned as Head presenter from GB News this week, fans are wondering if he will also join Rupert Murdoch’s newest venture.
Media giant Mr Murdoch has had a close relationship with Mr Neil, appointing him as editor of The Sunday Times in 1983 and later working together to establish Sky TV.
Mr Neil was a co-founder of the GB News channel, but since its launch, it has been fraught with technical difficulties, low viewership, and a lack of funding.
After only two weeks of studio presenting, it has been reported Mr Neil decided to leave the show because relations with chief executive Angelos Frangopoulos broke down over the direction GB News was heading in.
Mr Neil opened the show by saying: “GB News will not be another echo-chamber for the metropolitan mindset that already dominates so much of our media.
“We are proud to be British, the clue is in the name.”
Heralded by viewers as ‘anti-woke’, GB News champions freedom of speech, but talkTV threatens to take away the GB News audience as it too has presented itself as a platform for diverse opinion.

Talking about his new role on talkTV, Piers said: “I’m thrilled to be returning to News Corp, which is where I began my media career more than 30 years ago.
“Rupert Murdoch has been a constant and fearless champion of free speech and we are going to be building something new and very exciting together.”
“I want my global show to be a fearless forum for lively debate and agenda-setting interviews, and a place that celebrates the right of everyone to have an opinion, and for those opinions to be vigorously examined and challenged.”
Piers now symbolises a fight for freedom of speech in journalism since winning his Ofcom battle against Meghan Markle, after he was slammed for expressing disbelief at her claims made against the Royal Family.
Social commentators have argued that Mr Murdoch’s choice to have Piers at the helm of the talkTV ship, sends a clear message to the public that this new channel will be run on the ethos of open debate and holding power to account.
