Piers Morgan reveals he's banned his wife Celia Walden from going on Strictly because of the dreaded curse – as Kate Silverton claims it has spiced up her marriage

The 53-year-old host said he is too scared that Celia Walden, 42, would run off with a sexy professional dancer – like many celebs have done on the BBC One show.

Piers chatted to married Strictly contestant Kate Silverton about his fears, and said: "If my wife entered Strictly, well A) I'd ban her because of the curse.

"And B) I'd be watching all this footage of (Celia) caressing that other guy, knowing they were training so closely 10 hours a day.

"The Strictly curse is a real thing!"

Kate replied: "Is it a real thing, or is it marriage magic? You know my husband, and he is very, very cool with it.

"More to the point, he's loving the impact it's having on his wife! It's too early in the morning (to explain)."

Celia started going out with 52-year-old former newspaper editor Piers Morgan in 2006, while he was still married to first wife Marion Shalloe.

They wed in 2010 in Swinbrook, Oxfordshire, around the time Piers was presenting Britain's Got Talent.

She and Piers have a five-year-old daughter called Elise, who is Piers' fourth child and only girl.

In a column, Celia previously revealed that she asked Piers which of her friends he would sleep with if she gave him a "hall pass".

He's said that she has "no sympathy" over the fact Piers gets up at 3.30am in the morning to go and present Good Morning Britain.

In March 2018 Piers shared snaps on Instagram of him and Celia on holiday in Los Angeles as he took an extended break from the morning programme.
